This is Venkat. I have been doing financial planning for professionals and NRIs in India for the past 2 years. Prior to that, I was in the IT industry, doing corporate communications and branding. I saw the industry from the perspective of a typical corporate employee. So, I realized it is important for me to create awareness among professionals based on what I have learned.

1.Term Insurance Awareness

I am passionate about creating awareness about term insurance among working professionals, as many in India and NRIs are either undercovered or uncovered. Term insurance is also affordable when someone plans the same early in their career, but some invest in a term plan only in their late 40s. I have done term insurance consulting for over 1000 professionals. I issue both individual and group-term plans.

2.Health Insurance Awareness

I do not sell health insurance myself. So, no way, I could spam you. But I realized most corporate employees assume their group health insurance is enough and never even consider buying health insurance. Eventually, I receive calls from professionals only after they or their family member have a major health issue. At this point, none of the 33 general insurance companies or health insurance companies in India are issuing a product. So, I created awareness about the importance of considering exclusive health coverage for your family.

3.Early Retirement Plan

As a mutual fund distributor, I do retirement planning for my clients. I offer a mix of products in mutual funds and life insurance for those who are conservative. For those who invest directly, I do a review of their mutual fund portfolio for a fee. 

What’s covered in corporate financial consulting for employee welfare?

1. I do awareness sessions as a webinar for employees who are interested in listening.

2. I have a no-spam policy and, hence, will not contact any employees by phone.

3. I charge a small consulting fee to individual employees who might contact me for my financial consulting services after the session. This way, I try to genuinely recommend products that are right for the person rather than push a product on them.
